Eric Morris | N.onT.ypical Outdoorsman

A native of Talladega, AL who now lives outside of Atlanta, GA, Eric uses his show to engage, inspire, and motivate others to become outdoorsmen. Eric is an outdoor writer, public speaker, hunter education instructor, outdoor television personality, and three-time combat veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan. Eric has been an outdoorsman and hunter all his life but after 38 years of not seeing racial diversity depicted in outdoor television, Eric decided to be like Nike and “Just do it”. Collaborative talks with other aspiring outdoor television producers resulted in no action, so in the Fall of 2019 Eric launched N.onT.ypical Outdoorsman TV with the goal of it being the most diverse outdoor television show in the world.

Eric’s focus is on hunting skills, marksmanship, and affordable hunting. He is deeply invested in introducing new hunters to the sport whether they be youth or adults and he hosts mentored hunts each year. Eric pays homage to the great woodsmen that came before him and uses nontypical hunting techniques to harvest game such as deer, hog, bear, quail, pheasant, duck, turkey, Alaskan game, small game, and more. N.onT.ypical Outdoorsman TV also focuses on fishing, firearms, archery, survival techniques, and proper outdoor etiquette. Each episode is packed with trivia, adventure, and a tip of the week to make you a better hunter and outdoorsman.  50% of the hunts take place on lands that are open to the public.

Eric prefers the simple life when it comes to hunting and relies more on skill and wit than the use of technology and science.  It’s not about trophy hunting for Eric, it is about putting meat in the freezer, being self-reliant, while teaching others how to be ethical hunters.
